Fix Your Body
aims to provide a generally holistic approach to body therapy and exercise by offering a service that
treats muscular soreness through massage and looks at the cause of soft tissue injury seeking to address muscular
imbalances through appropriate exercises and training programs.

This is our fifth year as a massage business Chris having run a personal training business for many years.  'I find it more
rewarding to help people by immediately relieving pain where I can and offering solutions to long term soft tissue problems
whether they be by treatment in the massage room or work in the fitness studio'  The ability to include exercise prescription
as a physical educator makes a huge difference in injury repair.

Qualifications
Chris has a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy earned at the Health Arts College in Box Hill and a Bachelor of Education
(Physical Education) from Victoria College Rusden. Previously Chris has worked as a physical education teacher in
government secondary schools (11 years) and as the sports science specialist at the Operational Safety Division of Victoria
Police (8 years of the 15 for that employer) .

Chris was a VFL (now AFL) boundary umpire from 1982-1992 completing over 150 senior games including three grand finals
- 1985, 1987 and the great 1989 Hawthorn vs Geelong final.  The VO2 max (maximal oxygen uptake - a measure of aerobic
fitness) scores for the team of boundary umpires at the time was directly measured at Philip Institute in 1989 and was found
to be at the elite level with several  scores over 70mL/kg/min, including Chris' (72mL/kg/min)

During his fifteen years as a member of Victoria Police he worked for eight years as an operational safety trainer teaching
firearms, self defence and critical incident management. For the last five years he was a sergeant at the division and
responsible for overhauling the methods used for teaching motor skills to recruits and operational members and for the
introduction of evidence based fitness testing for police applicants, recruits in training and probationary constables.  He also
had a fitness program running for operational members during operational safety training.  Both the training program and the
fitness testing protocols have lapsed since his departure.

He is a member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (member no. 020130) and of Physical Activity Australia
(member no KA23070).
